日本を代表する大城郭のひとつ。天下統一を成し遂げた豊臣秀吉が1583年築城。戦火などで焼失したが、昭和初期に市民の寄付などにより復興天守を再建。今も変わらぬ姿で大阪を見守る。
This is one of Japan’s most renowned castles. The castle was built during Japan’s Sengoku (warring states) period in 1583 by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, who achieved the unification of Japan. At the time it was a luxurious and gorgeous castle that included the use of gold. After it was lost to fire due to war, the castle tower was rebuilt, and its unchanged sight stands to this day as a symbol of Osaka.
大阪の食文化といえば「粉もん」。今や全国にたこ焼き専門店があるが、大阪人にとっては一家に一台たこ焼き器がある(?)といわれるほど、身近であり愛してやまないソウルフードなのだ。
Takoyaki, or octopus dumplings, are a specialty dish of Osaka. Chunks of octopus along with ingredients such as pickled ginger and bits of fried tempura batter are placed in a flour-based batter and fried into spherical shapes 4-5 cm in diameter, and eating after being topped with sauce and dried bonito shavings. To people from Osaka, takoyaki is a soul foul they can’t help but love.

Kushikatsu is a dish of skewered meat and vegetables breaded with flour, eggs and bread crumbs and deep fried, and is a specialty dish of Osaka’s downtown area and the Shinsekai district. Kushikatsu Daruma, which opened in 1929, is the birthplace of Kushikatsu and is a popular store that generates long lines.
1978年から約19年間連載されアニメ化もされた漫画作品「じゃりン子チエ」。ホルモン焼き屋を切り盛りする主人公「竹本チエ」と個性豊かな大阪の下町の人々の生活が描かれている。
Jarinko Chie, apopular cartoon, was serialized for nearly 19years,from 1978, and was also made into an animated movie.The cartoon depicts the life of Chie Takemoto, the main character who runs a horumonyaki (broiled beef or pork innards ) restaurant, and the other unique folks in downtown Osaka.
551HORAIは1945年(昭和20年)大阪難波に創業、翌年「551の豚まん」が誕生。1日平均販売個数は約17万個!手作りにこだわり、そのひとつひとつが全て手包みで作られている。
551 HORAI was established Namba,Osaka,in1945. The following year, 551 bitumen (a steamed bun with a minced pore filling) was added to the company's menu. On average, nearly 150,000 butaman buns are purchased each day. The company continues to make its products by hand and each bun is wrapped manually.
1964年模型店から始まった世界的な造形制作会社。2003年のお菓子のおまけフィギュアバブルの恩恵により建てられた社屋の外観もさることながら、玄関には映画撮影に使用された高さ4.5mの大魔神が鎮座し、造形作家たちが日夜切磋琢磨する非日常的空間であり、造形の発信地となっている。
Kaiyodo was originally a small hobby shop established in 1964. Benefiting from the freebie boom in 2003, it grew into a world-famous figurine production company over the years. Simultaneously, Kaiyodo conducted renovations to the company building, including installing a 4.5 m height Daimajin outdoor-sculpture. It is also the place where the talented sculptors work and the epicenter of Japanese figurine culture.
